evan’s new song cycle Four Picture Books has been performed in Paso Robles, California, and Atlanta, Georgia in the last few weeks.  the Portland premiere will be saturday, november 9th at 4pm at PSU Lincoln Hall (room 326).  commissioned and performed by guitarist Nicolas Deuson, this performance will feature soprano Kelley Brandt.  based on poems from “A Child’s Garden of Verses,” come join us for the work’s pacific nw premiere.

evan’s  in-progress chamber opera The Witch of the Iron Wood, written with playwright Claire Willett, had its first workshop production as part of the 2013 Fertile Ground New Works Festival and was selected as an “Editor’s Pick” by Portland Monthly.  Singled out as a project that shows “potential,” it was said that evan’s “unsettling score compliments the story’s dark tone.”  to read the review, click here
